Executive Search
Weinstein & Company conducts search assignments for clients wishing to fill management positions. Much of our work involves general-management slots (CEO, President, COO, or GM of a group or division) and functional-leadership roles (CFO; head of sales and marketing; CIO; head of HR; etc.); we also recruit partner- and principal-level professionals for consulting and private-equity firms. However, we evaluate each new opportunity based primarily on its fit with our experience and approach, rather than on the specific job title or compensation level.
Assessment
The firm has been asked by clients to help evaluate individuals or entire management teams. This need can arise if an executive or group is not performing to expectations, in the course of due diligence by an acquiring company or private-equity investor, or simply as part of an ongoing talent management and development process. Once we have agreed with a client on the goals of the project and the key issues to be addressed, we conduct an extensive and targeted interview of the executive (or executives) in question, as well as conversations with superiors, peers, and subordinates. On some occasions, this assessment work has been done on a stand-alone basis; on others, clients have chosen to follow up by initiating search assignments.
Consulting
Companies undergoing (or planning to undergo) significant growth or change have asked Weinstein & Company to serve as an advisor. Often, the client company wishes to factor organizational and recruiting concerns into key strategic and operating decisions so that, when the company is ready to fill senior-level positions, they are structured in ways which are attractive to outstanding candidates.
